ETP IV: Prose to Verse

The Reclusive Life of an American Eccentric

Opening sequence
born of a tornado, a small puppet
drawn from a skimpy historical record
strange detail
flat
ordinary
monotone

spent a lot of his childhood measuring his feet

kidnapped by a tornado, artfully manipulated
gliding smoothly in black
bringing precisely observed truth to his smallest actions
you don't argue logic with an eccentric

Brief, funny sequence
disjointed interior dialogue
"If it sounds like a train,
it could be a tornado"
"If someone knocks on your door,
it could be a tornado"

Closing sequence
never coheres into something sharp and lifelike

languid meditation
droning activity
the clock breaks.
